Skid plates
We've all seen oil pans - even stock depth ones - that have taken a hard smack! from Mother Earth at one time or another. I guess a better question would be: how many haven't?
So, you might get lucky, and not leave a trail of your engine's life blood trailing behind... but what's happened to that carefully-set distance between your pickup and the bottom of the pan? Changing the oil pan, what a joy! But it's better than having your pickup jammed up against it so that it can't flow enough at 5000 rpm... the hole that would make in the oil pan would be a real problem!

As you can see, there's still plenty of ground clearance. If you click on the center photo, you'll get a better look at the 'before' condition. Rob's nice Milodon pan is hanging down. The pic on the right, taken from about the level of the bottom of the K-member, shows that the pan is now safe and sound!

For you guys with the hard launching, wheels-up cars, who need to protect a deeper drag race type pan, we also offer this 2.5" deep skid plate. All the same features as the standard model, but made for your application. You could also buy one for a hood scoop for the kid down the street with the Civic... but it might catch too much air and tear the hood off! The Hemi-size one is shown at the top of the page, and installed below

**Most 8 quart pans. Remember, these cars weren't all built to the tightest of tolerances to begin with, and now that they've been pounded on for 30+ years, they really aren't all the same shape. Trust us, we've measured them!
